Some highlights from the month included:
-
Read-Aloud Sessions: Teachers and staff brought stories to life through daily read-alouds, helping students explore new genres and authors.
-
Mystery Readers: Special guests—including parents, community members, and staff from other departments—surprised classes by dropping in to read their favorite books.
-
Book Discussions: Students participated in thoughtful conversations about books they read, practicing critical thinking and comprehension skills.
-
Classroom Reading Challenges: Students set reading goals and tracked their progress throughout the month, cheering each other on and celebrating milestones with certificates and small prizes.

Schloastic Book Fair
From the week of January 27 to January 31, the Scholastic Book Fair filled our hallways with excitement. Students eagerly browsed through the collection of books, enhancing their reading skills and fostering a love for literature. We appreciate all the families who visited and supported this initiative!
In addition to the Book Fair, our students actively participated in engaging classroom activities. Science for Scientists sessions sparked curiosity as students explored hands-on experiments, deepening their understanding of STEM concepts.
Meanwhile, our computer science program continues to gain momentum. Students in our coding sessions practiced fundamental programming skills, preparing them for future opportunities in technology.
Looking ahead, we are gearing up for Career Day, where students will have the opportunity to meet professionals from various fields. We are also finalizing plans for Picture Retake Day on March 6. Stay tuned for more updates!

Stem Play Day
The STEM Play Day, organized by FOSRSE (Friends of Science, Research, and STEM Education), provided an exciting opportunity for Pre-K students to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on activities.
Children participated in various interactive stations that introduced them to basic STEM concepts. They built structures with blocks, learned about balance, and explored engineering ideas.
They also experimented with simple machines, like pulleys and ramps, to see how they worked. Interactive coding activities helped them develop early problem-solving skills while engaging with technology.
Nature exploration allowed students to investigate natural materials such as rocks and leaves, learning about ecosystems. Additionally, art and science activities let them experiment with colors and textures, combining creativity with basic scientific principles.
The day was full of fun and learning, giving students the chance to think critically, collaborate, and develop a love for STEM in a playful environment.
